A few weeks ago I went with my friends to see an air show. The schedule was packed with acrobatics and many types of aircraft. The highlight of the show was the blue angles with their jets doing dangerous routines. I took my camera in the hope that some good digital memories to capture in this exhibition.
I took my digital SLR camera to the issuance of the air. I have in my bag next to a special camera lenses and extra battery. I have an eight-megapixel digital SLR zoon lens 100-300mm.
I decided to shoot as many photos as I could tell my experience that in such cases the law of large numbers works very well – Shoot as many pictures as you can and you may be able to find some pictures that really unique. Then, when the planes flying around me, my camera at them and from there I shows the most air saw through the viewfinder of my camera started.
I put my camera to focus automatically continuous. I had my finger holding the shutter button halfway most of the time, while I moved the camera, followed by the rapid flight of the aircraft. I heard the engines of the equipment is working hard to move the optical components of the lens back and forth to keep the right focus. I also have the camera in burst mode, so when I decided the composition was worth shooting a photo he shot a quick succession of four photos. The idea behind it was the first, more photos to choose from – with fast aircraft, four pictures are really different from one another – and second, some may eventually move into a recording device sequence of images.
Over time, my hands holding the camera and my grip was not as stable as stable fatigued. Unfortunately I did not bring a tripod – and I probably have not used, even if I, because it is hard to keep flying the planes with especially if you are familiar with had thousands of people around you. When I look at the photos that night I saw the results of my decision tired – the latest digital image is not as strong or stable than the previous one.
When I saw the results of my work, my reaction to the novelty lenses with image stabilization built into them was to go. There are two types of image stabilization, the sensor and the one that moves move actually used in the lens top to a floating optical element that compensates for the vibration. The latter is more expensive and leads to better results. I saw people running around with Canon’s image stabilization I do not know how it was for them, but you seem impressive.
There are also disadvantages of using image stabilizers and actually show some of these problems are very important for my shots aerial photographs. Move the camera to a remarkable aerobatic aircraft can follow the image stabilizer that this movement can be seen as a negative shock, confused and trying to compensate. If I need a stabilizer, I had to use different practices, if my pictures as the attempt, the camera on an axis and move more or less constant speed.
On the whole I have to fly around some great photos of airplanes and doing acrobatics in close proximity to one another elected, with aircraft flying birds in what appears on the photograph as closely related and others are digital photographs of aircraft in different situations. They have good memories of the air show and as a lesson for the better-equipped air show in my next shot digital camera.
