Photography Project Ideas II – 10 Assignments to Stimulate Your Creativity

by admin

In my last article on the ideas of photography projects, I talked about the need for photographers outside the box and Beyond, and stimulate their creativity by photographing the subject outside of their comfort zone. Here I present 10 self-missions, which you use to can get your own creativity. Many of these projects are best over a period of time, rather than carried out in a single session.

1st The Park Bank. Take your camera and tripod for a park, and find a park bench occupied. Prepare yourself for a certain distance with a long lens on the bench and pre-targeted. Sit back, and for the next few hours, take pictures at regular intervals, eg every ten minutes. It is really an exercise in time-lapse photography. I think the resulting images would be a photo essay to be fun. Creativity remains the same change, but subjects at random.

2nd Building development. Find a job site in the vicinity and take a photo every day. If you select the same point every time you end up with a series of images shows the gradual completion of the construction.

3rd In the course of the seasons. This exercise is similar to the number two, but it is best done in a less urban environment, and over a longer period. Find a landscape that you wear in the spring, summer, autumn and winter. This works especially well if you live in an area that is snow in the winter and when the leaves change color in autumn.

4th Self-portrait. The concept is simple: Take a picture of himself every day. It allows you to use a tripod and shutter release, rather than limiting themselves by trying to shoot with the camera at arm’s length. You’re about as patient as we are all use to work, so your advantage. Be creative to use, not too much dressing, and props. You decide how you want to show the world! If you do an Internet search on this topic, see the connection with Flickr and Twitter groups where you can share your pictures.

5th A Day in the Life of … This is a big project to a specific occupation documented. For example, you can take pictures of a nurse at work, to show all the different aspects of his work. There may be more than one day of shooting is set to a representative of images captured.

6th Know your neighborhood. All too often we never really a good impression of our own neighborhood. Make a point to go and take ten pictures of the area where you live. To do this, once a month or even once a week if you have really inspired.

7th Color Challenge. It is a fun challenge for the urban environment. Take your camera downtown and treat yourself to shoot a couple of hours. Choose a color (or the additional challenge of choosing the color for your friend), and draw only the objects in that color. At the end of the session you will be surprised to see how the color jumps on you! When finished, it is good to take your best shots and assemble them into a collage or a mosaic. You can do this with Photoshop, but for something free and easy, try this tool.

8th A collection of “somethings.” Every time you go, bring your camera and be aware of all this “something” is selected, you. He could feet, garbage cans, vegetables that look like faces, bicycles to name -! Be creative and choose a topic that you do not see normally in pictures.

9th Pet’s Eye View. Imagine that you are your pet. How would you see the world if you have a dog? A hamster? Take a series of images from the perspective of the eyes of your pet.

10th After Dark. We do not always think to get our cameras into the night instead. Try to shoot into the night. If you are in the country, you can moonlight or star trails. In the city, you can shoot through cars’ tail-light or buildings of the city. Wherever you are, you can try light painting – with a long exposure time and a flashlight moving parts of the scene.
